Harris Geospatial works with educators to develop academic programs that encourage students to explore careers that use complex numerical data and geospatial imagery. When ENVI Products are put to work in established academic programs, students get the tools they need to be successful in their careers and for professional development following graduation.
Our support of K-12 schools, community colleges, and universities extends to a number of data visualization and geospatial imagery educational programs. Harris Geospatial proudly supports initiatives such as iGETT (Integrated Geospatial Education Technology and Training) and CalGETT (California Geospatial Education Technology and Training), which prepare students for the workforce by developing instruction that integrates geographic information systems (GIS) with remote sensing technology.
Our Innovation Centers highlight universities and colleges in the United States and Canada offering courses that involve the use of image and data analysis software as a core component of the curriculum. As Harris Geospatial Innovation Centers, universities and colleges may receive a number of educational benefits, including licenses of the company's industry-leading software products for image and data analysis, ENVI, ENVI LiDAR, ENVI SARscape, and IDL, for use in classroom instruction. Other advantages include access to professional training resources and consultations with Harris Geospatial representatives on course structure and curriculum, as well as the opportunity to preview and give feedback on releases of ENVI and IDL. Current Innovation Centers include: Rochester Institute of Technology, St. Louis University, West Valley College, University of Winnipeg, and George Mason University.
Top educators in learning institutions use our software solutions - ENVI, ENVI LiDAR, ENVI SARscape, and IDL - to create meaningful, relevant course curricula. This enables students to pursue professional positions in top commercial, government, and defense organizations after graduation.
